Focusing on Flavonoids
Enjoy late summer’s antioxidants. Late summer and early fall abound in produce rich with plant pigments known as flavonoids. To benefit from these valuable antioxidants, seek out the season’s brilliant red, orange and yellow hues: berries, melons, plums, apricots, squashes and peppers are all delicious sources.

I went to the local farmers market and found that ther are three to four different colors of tomatoes. I bought all of them to see what the taste was of each, all juicy an wonderful of course. And don’t forget the squash, fall is the best time to try thosr spagetti squash, etc.
I love my fruits and vegetables. My favorite snack is a nice bowl of colorful fruit and either low fat cottage cheese or greek yogurt and granola. It is also good to get the fruits in season and then freeze them to enjoy later in the year.
I am a horticulturist and grow most of my food
As I went to make breakfast this morning, 6 beautiful peppers were staring at me, begging to be incorporated into the scrambled eggs. Of course I had to oblige! I’ve decided to make a chili for this week and thanks to this challenge -am looking forward to adding some colorful veggies.
I love fruits and vegetables. We do grow raspberries & blueberries. Would love to have our own garden but, to many deer and rabbits.
I live about five minutes away from the local farmers market which convieniently is open 7 days a week rain or shine year round. statistics say that 75 percent of produce goes through my city so i take advantage on cheep produce that is fresh and most often organic. there are also many ethnic shops around to find cheep spices and ingredients for healthy eating. to all who may come through or live near kc, take advantage of it. its the river market in kansas city.
I eat a lot of fruits and veggies. I especially love sweet potatoes.
Try those TOPSY-TURVY planters… You can grow strawberries, tomatoes, and more!... Cheapest way is to make your own from a 5 gallon bucket … simply cut a small hole in bottom and place plant UPSIDE DOWN… Hang the bucket on a porch that gets a little sun, or in a window ….It’s the condensation that keeps it growing
eat more veggies & fruits
I grow my own garden and what I can not grow I like to get from farmers rather then store. I can and freeze a lot while fruits and veggies are in season and full of nutrients, plus I know exactly what is in my food.
