Mow high
Lawn care is an area in which most of us can make eco-friendly changes without discomfort. One of the easiest—and most effective—changes is to maintain a fairly tall cutting height. Setting your blade’s cutting height to 2.5-3 inches allows for longer, stronger, more weed-resistant grass. Longer blades of grass also shade the soil better, encouraging deeper root growth. Mowing regularly, when sun is minimal, and keeping mower blades sharp are also helpful. Today, challenge yourself to rethink your lawn leanings, with an eye to saving water and energy and increasing grass strength.

I don’t get a chance to mow that often, so when I do mow I mow on a higher setting because my grass is tall. Now that I know that is a good thing, I will share that info with my friends and neighbors.
We mow our lawn at this hieght already. We never use pesticides or fertilizer. We let nature rule.
I am a horticulturist so these facts are common knowledge to me and techniques I have used for years
We do this all summer long and don’t have to water half as much as my neighbors. My grass also doesn’t burn in the hot summer heat either.
We do this all summer long! And only use organic fertilizer in the fall. No need to make the grass grow more in the spring time.
