Focus on stress reduction

Submitted by admin Read more daily challenge, inner harmony, mind and body, relaxation, and toning up
Challenge Yourself for: 24 Hours

Need another way to approach exercise? Instead of focusing on things like grueling challenges or weight management, try shifting your mindset to reducing stress. When you imagine the benefits exercise has on your mind, fitness takes on a whole new meaning. Today, challenge yourself to workout and then focus your attention on your stress level after your workout. Pretty relaxed, right? _Always consult a physician before starting any exercise routine._

Ever try deep water aerobics? A great way to get a good workout. It is fun and you can work as hard as you like without any joint pounding. It is NOT just for little old ladies with with hip replacements.

I do feel better after a workout. I make sure to do something each day, whether it is riding my stationary bike or strength training my major muscle groups. Doing this at home is easy for me. Plus I can DVR certain TV programs and watch them while I workout!

I agree wholeheartly! I’m a retired senior, not much stress, a free health club/gym membership and am completely prescription-drug free. Going to my club faithfully three times a week keeps me in peak condition physically, mentally and socially. It makes everything else in life that much more enjoyable.

I agree with crazy4ou. I can not remain stressed when I am working up a sweat. I love spinning! I will be there tomorrow! And it is much healthier than over eating. Thank you.

A new gym just opened up in my back yard (almost); going every day has really reduced my anxiety and body-stress. For a PE flunky, I am in seventh heaven going to the gym these days. :)

I love yoga and it really helps to clear my mind. I love the balancing poses most of all, b/c you can’t really think about anything else.

Today I could really use some stress reduction! This is a great day to start thinking about my evening run as a stress reducer. I’ve been training for a half marathon, and the motivation is starting to slip a bit. I’m definitely motivated to feel more relaxed, so hopefully the new outlook will help!

I love yoga… although I try the many different kinds, my favorite is the stretching which really helps my stress level. Even in the middle of the day with only a few seconds, I can bend over and stretch those old back muscles, deep breathe a couple of times and – on my way. TRY IT!

Exercise is the BEST stress reliever! When I’ve had a stressful day at work, I can’t wait to get to the gym or track. I not only feel relaxed, but have renewed energy and a much-improved attitude when I am finished with my workout.
