My family have always ate turnips
I love love love roasted turnips!!
Roast them with carrots and an onion and then mash all of them together. What a delicious and healthy replacement for white potatoes!
Sometimes we wrap in foil and place or the grill. They are delicious this way.
I like eating my turnips steemed.
a little extra virgin olive oil, some turnips, parsnips, yams and beets cut up and coated, put them in the oven, roast and YUMMY! I LOVE this side dish!
Roasted and mashed…Perfect sub for potatoes…Yum!
They are so hard to peel!
If you find turnips too bitter for your palette, slice a cooking apple or two and mash together when soft. The apples will remove the bitterness. Delicious!
I found some “little” turnips, about the size of a potato easy to peel I mashed them with a small potato and some carrots Very good
Turnips are okay. I like their cousin, the rutabaga, better. They do not have the bitterness of turnips. They’re great roasted, but my favorite way of having them is boiled and mashed with a little bit of butter and some salt and pepper.
Turnip greens are also very good.
I like to cut them up like frenchfries and fry them up in a little butter and olive oil.
