Have fitness, will travel
Whether you have a gym membership that travels or need to find other ways to work out on family visits, doing some research ahead of time ensures you have the right gear and, more importantly, a reason to keep up your routine when you go away. Today, challenge yourself to come up with a master plan for getting exercise during your next wintertime journey. Some ideas: • See if your gym has a partnership with one in your destination city. • Get maps of your destination and plot walking, biking or jogging routes. • Locate malls or other large indoor places where you can walk briskly in bad weather. • Plan activities for the whole family to enjoy together. _Always consult a physician before starting any exercise routine._

I always do this any time I travel—be sure the hotel has “fitness center” and I always hit the treadmill at least once. The equipment at most hotels is not used much so it may not match up to what anyone is used to from a good gym. My motto is, “If it works, I will work it.”
I have learne dthat since we have a double stroller, walking to the store for something small is actually easier than packing the kids in the cat, and it is funner!
