Be a quick fitness study
Barebones or basic workouts in a pinch are fine – but do you have one? A little research will yield a handy list of strength moves, stretches, and weight-bearing exercises that you can take with you anywhere. Today, challenge yourself to write these moves down or, better yet, print out photos. Enclose them in a laminated card and-voila!—you’ve got yourself a workout you can take on the road or squeeze into a busy, rainy winter day. _Always consult a physician before starting any exercise routine._

whenever i have a complex workout or there are too many for me to remember, i write them down or just cut out from the magazines. these have been helpful. the more i use them, the less i have to carry the cards.
Today I did housework as an activity – I cleaned the carpet in all the rooms of our house – 4 hours.
Thanks for the encouragement
After years of working Progressive/Resistant Weight Training in the gym, a Rotator Cuff tear stopped me cold in my tracks – especially when it didn’t heal and I didn’t want surgery. I opted for a different direction and a new plan of attack with my exercise regime. I started classes in Body Flow, Body Pump, Pilates, Yoga, and Pitaiyo. All of these classes have modifications of the moves for those with injuries or weaknesses to various body parts. The nice aspect about taking classes is once you learn the moves the poses can be performed anywhere – at home, in a gym setting or even in a small office cubicle! Don’t be afraid, embarassed or frustrated – TRY and TRY AGAIN! Stay on track and keep an open mind!
It is all about consistency. Just keep doing your fitness plan and you will see results. Never stop. It is easy to find reasons not to do it, and easier to find somebody who says the same thing, but you can do it!
oops I didn’t follow thru on this But at least I went for a walk today, better than nothing
A new beginning with spring just around the corner. What better time for new hoe and new friends!
i’m excited to try this challenge. I’ll let you know how i’m doing in a week.
I’m been doing nothing for the last year. Need to get back into a good routine.
I try to do SOMETHING everyday for at least 20 minutes, whether it is walking back and forth around in your own house or running around downtown, hiking, swimming, biking… whatever it is, it gets your heart going! So many people do not realize how sentient their lifestyles are and how easily they can take the length of time it takes to eat breakfast and turn it into an opportunity to get their heart rate up!
I do a Pilate’s work out every other day, I do it in the privacy of my own home. I recently joined a 24 hour gym so I can get the cardio in
I put my laminated card together today! Thanks!
I agree with laaDEEdaa. dancing is a fun way and quite a workout
I also belong to Sparkpeople.com and the exercise routines they provide are great I am printing them out for my WED trip to the gym. Tuesday is swimming
Beginning regular exercise program today. Will do variety of different exercises each day so it doesn’t get boring. That’s been the downfall in the past.
Put on your favorite songs and DANCE! You’ll have a great time and the workout you get is amazing!
DDR with the kids work out really well for this, time with the family and exercise.
A winter storm in New England. Perfect for doing a workout routine at home. It will make me nice and hot too!
I do have a usual routine that I do at least 3 times per week, Gazelle and hoola hoop, but today I am going to do a Pilates workout with “bands” After being “under the weather” for a week it will be good to get back into it!
Getting into a routine, whether that means a general daily routine, or a workout routine is definitely one of the first items that was on my list of things to do before I started getting healthier. Being able to see it in writing helped me visual everything!
