Challenge Yourself for: 24 Hours

For many people, winter means cold weather when outdoor exercise is simply out of the question. Stay in touch with your body by creating – and following – a home stretching routine that keeps you limber and relaxed. Today, challenge yourself to write down 5-10 of your favorite stretches to do every day. Post them some place convenient for a daily reminder.

When creating your stretch routine, keep these tips in mind:
• Hit major muscle groups like neck, shoulders, back, thighs, hips, and calves.
• Maintain each stretch for at least 30 seconds.
• Remember to relax and breathe.
Always consult a physician before starting any exercise routine.

Have been doing well on this one for some time. I scatter stretches throughout the day: shoulder rolls and “reach for the sky’ while I wait for the shower water to warm up, “up on my toes to stretch calf muscles while I fill the kitchen sink with hot water to wash dishes, etc. It’s working.
