Move more this holiday
For most of us, the holiday season involves a lot of socializing, overeating and couch surfing. Try something different this year by making it a point to move a little when you’re tempted to spend the whole day lounging.
Today, challenge yourself to make a list of ways to keep active in the off time. Keep it handy so when you’re tempted to sit around you’ll have a reason to get moving! Here are some ideas to get you started:
• Run errands on foot or by bike.
• Do a set of push-ups, sit-ups or jumping jacks every few hours.
• Volunteer for active duty (vacuuming, playing with the kids, shoveling snow).
Always consult a physician before starting any exercise routine.

did more than sit on my “rump” after getting up, slowly but surely
Joined a gym and I go daily for 2-4 hours, not like last year. Awesome. Also, taking up ballroom dance and continue with my Yoga practice a couple days a week.
I am recovering from hip replacement surgery and then a broken femer 3 weeks later.I have therapy three days a week and I ride my recumbent bike on the other days.I hate being laid up and look forward to being more active.
I do 5 to 10 pushups every day to make my arms stronger..recently began doing pullups..
