Workout your rump

Challenge Yourself for: 7 days

It’s tempting to focus on individual body parts and want to work them out to improve them. Unfortunately, science doesn’t support the idea of spot toning. However, there are exercises that make you more conscious of your posture and musculature. And this, in turn, can improve your appearance. Increasing muscle mass in the glutes is feasible, and will change the way you stand, move and look.

This week, challenge yourself to add a couple of these moves to your workouts and daily regimen.
• Squats and lunges, preferably with added weight.
• Stair or hill climbing, indoors or outdoors.
• Butt lifts (place your feet on a raised step and lift the buttocks, ideally with a barbell across the pelvis)

Always consult a physician before starting any exercise routine.

Working out 4 times a week and walking fast 1 hour is the best way to stay fit, plus eating healthy.

Hey Jim – don’t lose heart. Sounds like you’re working really hard. Has your doctor done blood tests? Maybe there is something inhibiting you from losing weight. Do you keep a food and exercise log? It helps me… Just a thought.
