When was the last time you inspired others to make positive changes? Sometimes, it’s motivation, pure and simple, that matters. And, often, that motivation comes from outside sources. Whether it’s volunteering, leading a support group, community organizing, writing an article for publication or just connecting with others that suits your temperament and unique talents, challenge yourself to be a leader in healthy living this week.

I told a friend that eating right and exercising would give better results than taking pills or shakes.

As a counselor, I strive to bring out the positive in people. People today expect too much, too soon. I encourage them to take a look at their talents and to realize their goals can happen over time. Enkoy life!

I encouraged my sister to get back in the gym and we exercise together again. Also doing yoga at home via DVD. Feels great to be active and know it’s making a change in both our lives!

I’ve always been one to encourage others to eat healthier and to exercise. I’v tried to get other people to join the fitness clubs that I belong to. They seem to just do their thing, but I won’t give up trying, I’ve jad a few setbacks with my healh, but won’t give up trying to get back to my regime.

I post regularly on a fitnees thread at another forum. The forum is a general news one, but we got together and created a fitness thread to encourage each other.

I encourage everyone in my office to have healthier eating habits. I bring in balanced snacks for everyone so they can realize it’s possible to enjoy food that is good for you.

I always share my good food findings to my friends. They are always interested in my “finds”, whether it’s whole wheat organic cous cous, or almonds in 100 calorie portion bags. I think that’s why it takes me forever to shop…..I’m always l;ooking for new finds!

I TRY TO LIGHT A FIRE TO INSPIRE OTHERS EVERY DAY. I HAVE TAKEN ON THE CHALLENGE OF LOSING WEIGHT AFTER A LIFETIME OF STRUGGLING WITH THE YO-YO ASPECT OF BEING HEALTHY. LAST JANUARY I HAD WEIGHT LOSS SURGERY AND DOWN 62 POUNDS. I SHARE THIS WITH EVERY ONE I MEET AND TELL THEM THIS IS NOT THE MIRACLE CURE AS SOME THINK. AT LAST I AM BEING A MORE PRODUCTIVE PERSON AND SHOUTING A HEALTHY LIFESTYLE TO EVERYONE

Like the “pizzalover”, I encourage my work colleagues to eat healthier and try to lead by example. I am currently in training & sent around a sign up sheet, for those who wanted to participate to bring a snack to class. Well we had quite a large dose of cookies & candy last week!! So tomorrow, I will start the week with cheese & organic/whole grain crackers. My snack partner is bringing fruit > melon balls & grapes, I believe. Now that is a body & brain healthy way to start the week…

I have been volunteering with Kiwanis for years. I love the feeling I get by helping others and knowing I am doing some good! :)

I always recommend the kashi products whenever I am asked about them. I keep an abundance of different varieties from cereals to granola bars. My parents are intown for the weekend and I have tried to motivate my mother by letting her know that eating natural has a definite effect on her whole system.

I talked with my daughter about going out and living her life as she wants to and not listening to the negative people she hangs around with.. She joined a yoga class… and is doing really well and is excited about how easy it is to thing positive.

I talked with my 15 year old-daughter, encouraging her to eat more healthy food (cutting out a lot of the junk food she likes to eat) and I signed her up for a gym membership so that we can work out together. This way she gets the exercise she needs and we get to spend time together. We both get healthy and we strengthen our bond as well. A double bonus!

I finally got my mom to understand that diet and exercise are a “forever” thing, not a quick fix.

Okay so my sister is pregnant … she craves a lot of sweets so i suggested a refreshing bowl of strawberries and bananas with some granola and whip-cream. Its a lot healthier than chocolates or her favorite sour candies. Today I recommended Kashi cereal to my older sister … hopefully she tries it =) Im glad i did!

I am a Cub Scout Den leader, I come up with very inspiring things for the boys each week. I helped my friend declutter her closet, organize her diningroom for Christmas, & we had a giftwrapping day & got all her gifts wrapped. I’m working on helping her focus on getting her life organized.
