Challenge Yourself for: 24 Hours

Short bursts of high intensity activity not only increase your aerobic capacity, but also burn more calories. The next time you go for a walk, challenge yourself to add a couple of short sprints or jogs to your routine.

I have Lupus and can’t run, skip, or jog. My hip and knee needs repair or replacement. I wear molded shoes. I walk kind of like a swamp monster in a horror movie. I do sitting down exercises chosen by my physical therapist. Does this count for anything?

If sudden sprinting downhill counts, then I’m all in!

I walked to our local grocery store and sprinted twice during the 25 min walk back. I could feel all my muscles saying thank you!

I usually sprint while walking the track 3 times a week, it really helps keep my routine from becoming boring.

This morning my running partner was sick so I took the bike. At the park I got off my bike and ran up this hill that is pretty steep 3 times. It was great. It made my workout!

I am starting a running conditioning class so I am sure I will get my fair share of running blocks in the next twelve weeks!

I walk every morning, 6 times around the streets surrounding our house. It’ll be good to try sprinting every 1/2 block or so.
