Spring into healthful eating

Submitted by SiteEditor Read more 7 day challenge, daily challenge, healthy eating, and local eating
Challenge Yourself for: 24 Hours

With new kinds of fresh fruits and vegetables popping up in local markets, spring is a great season to make positive changes to your diet. Strawberries, asparagus, and snap peas are just some of the tempting options becoming available. Plus, warmer weather makes a trip to a farmer’s market a real treat. Sometime this week, challenge yourself to freshen up your diet by trying a new recipe that includes a springtime food. _(When logging progress for this challenge, only log as many days as you participated the activity within the 7-day time frame.)¬_

I actually lost 78 pounds by changing my eating habits by going natural, organic, cutting out beef, pork, dark or colored soda’s. All veggies and fruits are organic yes you pay more but I love how it looks on me. I started August. I drick rice milk, no sugar in my cereal because Kashi supplys that or I get the vanilla flavored rice milk to subsitute the sugar. I love splenda in everything. I sweeten just to taste.Lunch I eat Kashi frozen’s. I eat alot of fish, chicken and turkey, veggies small starch. Drink plenty of water, kool aid with splenda or crystal light. I exercise by walking my dogs 2xdaily. I work out every other day. Shoes I thought I would never wear again I can fit. I am back to wearing 3-5 inch heels at the age of 44. I have either cereal or a fruit smoothie or put fresh fruits and veggies in my juicer. I love it!!!

Today I went to the store and bought a bunch of fresh fruit. This included Pineapple, grapes, strawberries, cantaloupe, and blueberries. All making for a very tasty fruit salad.

I quit smoking too – but started back for about a week. Just quitting again – trying to detox my body AGAIN w/fruits and veggies and organic stuff. I also try to follow the WW flex plan online and work out at curves – Kashi is just an added bonus.
