Pay attention to what you drink
It’s easy to overlook the small dietary choices we make every day that actually add up to big calorie additions at the end of the week. Our beverages are one of these items. This week, challenge yourself to write down your beverages every day. At the end of the week, find an online calorie calculator and add up all your extra calories for the week. They might be what’s holding you back from your health goals. _(When logging progress for this challenge, only log as many days as you participated the activity within the 7-day time frame.)_

I quit drinking soda years ago and I only drink water and milk. Those other drinks out there are wasted calories and not needed at all in a diet.
I used to be a Pepsi loyalist, and drank it daily. My last glass of soda was on Thanksgiving 2008 and to date I’ve dramatically lost a lot of weight. And my body just looks more decent than before. I noticed parts of my body that were normally holding water weight. Now they no longer do. Now all I’ll drink is water, juice, and the occasional Gatorade if I’m playing sports or working outside.
I like to drink Green tea part of the day or crystal light mix and/or regular water the rest of the day!
I like Chrystal light peach tea in place of water for half the day, I find its just as hydrating and dosn’t have that heavy sweet taste, but is a great substitute when I get burnt out on water.
I would love to try soy milk! Would you?
Also, Horizons Organic Skim milk is GREAT!
Do you like organic skim milk? If so, what brand do you drink?
I gave up drinking soda over a year ago and I have successfully stuck to it. the main things I drink are water, skim milk, green tea, fruit juice once in a while and low fat hot chocolate when I need some comfort.
I’ve started adding whey powder protein to my milk. Frozen milk and powder are great, too. It adds so much substance and extra protein.
i drink lots and lots of water. i also enjoy unsweet tea. it is very important that you drink plenty of water through out the day..!!
a also added skim milk, and to my surprise i really enjoyed it..
I’ve heard drinking more than 8 glasses of water a day has no health benefit. Has anyone else heard this information?
I am going to drink at least a quart of water a day, only one coffee and no sugared drinks.
no pop for me!
I have been trying to drink 8 8ounces of water daily. In place of the 3 coffee I normally drink.
I dislike constantly running to the bathroom. At this point i am at 4 glasses per day. Everyday i will try to increase.
I completely stopped drinking coke and only drink water and green tea and already lost two pounds.
I try to only drink tea or water.. I never use sugar in my tea.. thats good right?
I drink a lot of water then I don’t need to worry about sugar added to what i might be drinking.
amyers, I am not a big tea drinker but when I do it is decaff earl gray, that is what my husband drinks every night. Sometimes I get a different tea just for me but it is nothing special.
If anyone wants to know 8oz serving size of V8 is 60 calories
I am now drinkin 72oz of water a day, I hope that is enough!!!!!!! ;)
I have only had one soda in 16 months! No more CODE RED or Diet Coke! Water and some tea work as great substitutes! Fresh spearmint, too!
cardwellgina, I started drinking coffee after I got married, too. I used to hate coffee but times changed! What kind of tea do you prefer? Do you drink caffeinated tea?
I used to be a cokeaholic, but it started to show, sizewise and healthwise. Now I drink 48 oz of water a day. I drink 8 oz of V8 juice with lunch. 8 oz of V8 is a serving size, I’m not at home so I do not know the calorie count, but it is not much. stone982 said a “tiny” v8 is 30 calories.
I did not drink coffee until a few years after I married my husband. I have cut down to one cup in the morning and sometimes a cup of tea in the evening. I keep saying I lived 45 years without coffee, I can do it again!!!!! :) BUT I CAN’T
