Go with glass
Some plastics contain known toxins, including phthalates and bisphenol-A, among others. We think it’s time to give glass another shot, especially the shatter-proof kind. A bonus – glass food containers work great in the microwave. Today, challenge yourself to take inventory of your plastic food storage collection and usage. Consider replacing some items with glassware.
I do not use my Nalgene water bottle anymore. I have replaced it with a new aluminum bottle but I do not like the metallic taste.
drinking natural miniral water coming directly from the mountains is my dream water at present i am not getting this facility but soon I will be managed through this practicle problem there are many people around me who live on boiled water intake.
I did not realize that toxins could leach from plastic containers. Converting to glass as much as possible.
I went through my cupboards and threw out all my plastics that were a #7 and any that were old enough to not show a recycle #. I also went through my fridge and pitched the #7’s and #1’s. I saw there was a study in 2003 that showed #1 plastics gave off some chemicals into the container after 9 mos. of storage…for as long as things sit in the store before we even get them and how long things like jelly sit in the fridge, I’m not taking any chances!
I didn’t realize how many things showed a #7. Count me in. I’ll be using more glass for sure.
I did not like plastic before all the hoopla started. It can be expensive to replace plastic with glass containers, so I save my jars and lids. example a glass peanutbutter jar is a good size for leftovers…...
