Useful extras
Hem away your day
Tall folks aside, most of us spend considerable amounts of cash hemming and tailoring too-long trousers. Shortening pants is a useful skill and a solid building block for more complicated tailoring. Plus, being self-sufficient feels great. Since sewing clubs are springing up in cities nationwide, you don’t need to have your own machine to get started. Sometime this month, challenge yourself to learn this useful skill. You might enjoy sewing so much it becomes a hobby.

Have alway thought that I should be able to send back the extra fabric (to the mfg.) after hemming for a refund….maybe we can start a movement “fabric refunds for shorties”.
Two of my children always need their pants hemmed….they are a bit short for their pant size…so I am hemming their items on a regular basis…not to mention shirt hems that come loose.
I am going to attack my pile of mending today. I have a machine but rarely get around to using it. So, I have a pile of “to do’s” that I have been putting off to get to something else. Today, I will get to that pile!
Very cool that this is a challenge because it is something I have been wanting to do. My husband and I are both short and so hemming is a must. I will definitely learn to do this in the next 30 days!!
