Get to know wildflowers
Can you identify the wildflowers you see on hikes or local wanderings? Learning the names of flowers – and interesting facts about the way they grow and pollinate – is a rewarding pastime that takes your mind off how far you’re walking. Challenge yourself to grab a book about local blooms and hit the trail with friends.
(When logging progress for this challenge, only log as many days as you participated the activity within the 30-day timeframe.)

I just did your photography hike in Penasquitos canyon. Of course I had to take pictures of every little thing. You can see my pics on facebook. bonniejackson
I love wildflowers and I have always wanted to make a challenge like this but never have. I started today so I can recognize the many wildflowers during the summer!
I HAVE ADMIRED WILDFLOWER FOR MOST OF MY LIFE BECASUE OF MY MOTHER AND HER LOVE FOR THEM.. I HAVE A FIELD BY MY HOUSE THAT IS LOADED WITH ALL KINDS OF FLOWERS. I ADD TO THEM EVERY YEAR AND JUST LOVE TO WATCH THE FIELD COME ALIVE WITH BLOOMS.
This is a great way to get away from all the noise and craziness. The nice part is that you can explore a variety of locations from local parks to meadows and woods to see a wide variety of plants and flowers. An added bonus i that you will often see a variety of animals and birds. This is great exercise as well as a learning exercise for young and old alike.
I learned two wildflower names during New York City Wildflower week.
i walk through the woods with my son and show him the different trees, shrubs, birds, butterflies and everything else you could think of to find in the woods. he loves it when we find bugs
I started today, and collected some to bring home.
