Eat whatever you want

Tomorrow is Eat What You Want Day. Sounds liberating, doesn’t it? However, a person who listens to their hunger cues, balances calories in vs. calories out, eats healthy foods, and exercises regularly can eat whatever they want…everyday.

Today or towmorrow, participate in Eat What You Want Day. However, do it wisely and in moderation. Better yet, use it as an opportunity to observe your dietary danger zones. Do you run for the chocolate or savor salty snacks? Reach for a fruit or grill up a steak?

Make the experience meaningful too. Let go of lingering food issues, identify your weaknesses, practice self-acceptance, and create a plan for change.

I have made a promise to myself not to use this as an excuse to pig out on the bad foods. I want to practice some of the techniques I have been practicing about food portions and eating in moderation and I think this might be the perfect time to do so!

There is times a human being eats food that is not good for their mind or body, but one has to remember to balance it out with fruits, vegetables and whole grains.

Being able to listen to, and trust your body’s hunger cues is something many women strive for and I will use this challene to do that!

I’ve found that once you make the life commitment to getting in better shape, putting the time into exercising, and cooking your meals with healthy ingredients, you start to feel better, your taste buds change and the things you used to crave that were too salty or too sweet don’t taste good and you are less likely to continue wanting to eat them. It’s rather like switching from a Honda Accord to a Ferrari, and not wanting to eat fast food in it. You realize that it’s an investment, and just like any really great investment, you want take care of it and put only the best within it. However, dark chocolate is full of antioxidants, so there’s that consolation, and I love dark chocolate! That’s my splirge tomorrow!

My interest in fitness and eating well have turned into an obsession and I no longer enjoy eating due to over analysis. I want to enjoy the taste and texture of the foods I choose. Tomorrow I am going to brunch, and I pledge to enjoy what I eat there!
