Plant a tree

Deciduous trees save energy by shading you in summer and, after they’ve shed their leaves, letting sunlight heat your home in winter. This process is most energy-efficient when trees are planted on the south, east and west sides of a house. Today, celebrate Arbor Day and give a gift to the earth. Challenge yourself to plant a tree.

We were 2 days late for Arbor Day but we didn’t let that stop us! Today my 9 year old son and I planted a tree for him. He wants to watch it grow up with him. He’s a really sweet boy. Go plant some memories with your families.

My son and I volunteered to help plant 102 trees at a local park. It had suffered flood damage. We spent the day digging in the earth and planting beautiful trees. I hope my son will enjoy the trees in the years to come as well as my future grandchildren.

Planted a “FREE” tree from the California Center for Sustainable Energy (San Diego), check your local city offices, power companies and environmental agencies to find free trees….your efforts and tree will be good for everyone!
