Run fully loaded

Fewer loads reduce energy output and water usage. The next time you do dishes or laundry, challenge yourself to start washers only when they’re completely filled.

I try to do this every time I wash. With kids and an active husband, I always have clothes in need of cleaning. I also use cold water on most everything which also helps.

Not easy but makes a lot of sense.

Cold water also reduces shrinking and fading.

I use a front loader (larger loads), a great water conservation tool. But use hot water on linens due to allergies and safety for the grandkids (sorry).

I’m a stickler on this for dishes but now that kids are grown, my clothes washing has changed. Things sort into smaller loads, but saving up and washing with bed and bathroom linens helps. Good reminder today. You really think cold water cleans better?

I always run my washer fully loaded. My problem is keeping my husband out of the laundry room. He is laundry challenged and just throws everything in together, regardless of color or size load.

I always run full loads now that my daughter has flown the coop. Cold water is all I use. I made sure of that by not even hooking up the hot line;)

I have done this. I will search every room to make sure I have enough for a load. And most everything in cold, with the least amount of detergent as possible. It makes me feel great to know I am doing this. My husband just got the clothesline put up and that will help also!!

This is something my mom taught me. Why waste? It is your hard earned dollars going down the drain literally when you don’t.
I have the largest capacity washer available and I have always washed full loads only in cold water. I have 2 hampers one for light clothes and one for dark. When they are full, I do laundry.
The only exception was when my children were in diapers, I used hot and bleached them. My baby is 30 now with children of her own.
It has been challanging teaching my husband of 7 years to do full loads in the dishwasher. He is making progress though. I do use hot water there. It has been proven to my satisfaction that using the dishwasher is more economical than hand washing, and more sanitary.

WITH 5 OF US USING FULL LOADS FOR THE DISHWASHER AND WASHER IS NOT A PROBLEM, MORE LIKELY I HAVE ENOUGH LEFT OVER TO DO ANOTHER LOAD. I ALSO (WEATHER PERMITTING) HANG MY LAUNDRY OUTSIDE. IT TOOK MY HUSBAND AWHILE TO GET USED TO THE CLOTHES THAT WAY AND HE STILL PREFERS THEM IN THE DRYER BUT HE WILL HAND THEM ALSO. I ALSO USE COLD WATER, THINGS DONT FADE AS FAST.

With three kids that have friends over, my dishwasher is always full!! I use a front load washer that regulates the water to the size of the load. I still try not to wash a load till it is full and yes, I use cold water on almost all loads.

I replaced my standard size washer with a high efficiency APARTMENT size washer, uses less energy and water per load…..........all loads are guaranteed to be full loads!

Nothing new for me here ! I always seem to overstuff my washing machine and dishwasher.
We have the front loader huge eco size washer that is also energy efficient. The nice part about this washer & dryer you can do large loads (which mean LESS loads).
