Prepare fruits and veggies for the week
Sometimes, people don’t eat enough fruits and vegetables because they don’t want to take the time to prepare them.
Today, make an effort to avoid this pitfall by cutting up your favorite fruits and veggies and dividing them into single serving-size packs for easy on-the-go snacks.
You can also apply this same idea for your weekly dinner menu; by cutting up veggies today (and storing them in air-tight containers), you’ll probably be more likely to prepare healthy dinners during the week.
I did this yesterday and since then have eaten 2 large bowls for dinner, yesterday and today. Also had 2 servings of fruit today. Eating more produce is one of my goals so this has been a good challenge for me. Thanks!
Yesterday I went to my local farmers market and bought a bunch of veggies – green beans, broccoli, and squash – that I roasted with garlic and a little olive oil. I put some in baggies for today and am looking forward to enjoying them with my lunch. Roasting is pretty easy, even for non-cooks like me! Take a roasting pan or cover a cookie sheet in foil, put some clean veggies on it, and brush them with a little olive oil, garlic, and salt and pepper to taste. Bake at 375 or so until they look cooked (I like mine a little bit brown). It’s good to flip them over once or twice as well so that they cook evenly. Enjoy!
I picked up a bunch of easy-to-eat fruits and veggies blueberries, cherries, and grape tomatoes and took them to work in baggies. It was a great snack at the desk, so I could munch and work at the same time, and it killed any cravings for anything unhealthy. I think it also made me eat smaller meals. Turns out that fruit was the perfect finger food. Thanks!
I just picked up an ugli fruit, a pummelo and a pomengranate & got them ready to nibble on. I have some for breakfast and will again for dinner tonight!
wehn you cut an apple into slices and leave it they turn brown. i have heard that if you put lemon juice on them, they dont turn brown. Anybody know if this works?

Yep, the lemon juice trick totally works. You can also use it for avocados or pears—basically almost produce that oxidizes when you cut it up.
