Pairing Cheese with TLC Party Crackers

Gina Freize*, president and cheese expert from Venissimo Cheese Shop in San Diego, California, recommends the following cheese pairings to complement Kashi's new entertainer-style crackers.

Stoneground 7 Grain

This delicious cracker should be served with Amsterdam Reserve, a one-year aged Gouda from Holland. Any Gouda with a buttery or butterscotch undertone would be lovely, as the sweetness of the cheese complements the heartiness of the grains.

Mediterranean Bruschetta

This cracker goes best paired with Pecorino Lucano, an herbaceous pecorino from Italy. Any aged sheep-milk cheese would be great because the natural oils in the cheese enhance the tomato and basil flavors in the cracker.

Roasted Garlic & Thyme

We suggest you serve this cracker with Cougar Gold, a tangy cheddar from Washington State University. The sharp cheddar cheese enhances the garlic and herb seasonings. Any sharp cheddar will work; the garlic needs a powerful counterpart to create the perfect pairing.

I like these crackers, and they go well with cheese or chicken salad. But the most recent box I got at Whole Foods was rancid. Maybe the shelf like is a little shorter than what is on the box?

I have not tried any of the Kashi crackers. I just found out that they make them, so tonight after work, I will stop by the store and see what I can find!

These look yummy! I’m going to look for them in my market…...if they don’t carry them, I’ll request them. Many times I find my store will carry an item if I reqest it.

How do you go about printing a coupon.

I routinely buy Kashi cereals, granola bars and crackers and love them all. However, I just purchased a box of TLC Party Stoneground 7 Grain crackers and they were very rancid. I could smell it when I opened the package and they tasted like they smelled. The expiration date on the box was SEP2408CMA 06:33. This is the first time I have ever been dissatisfied with a Kashi product but they went straight into the trash. I see in another comment that someone else had the same problem. Kashi, please work on this as normally I like the taste of your products and feel I am doing something healthy for my body.

I love the TLC crackers with anything on them! But I like them best just naked as a snack for golf!

I highly recommend a nice dollop of almond butter and a little bit of a good dark honey.
